RIALTO, CA – 4 Gen Logistics, a leading pioneer in sustainable freight transportation, is proud to announce the energization of 14 new Hyper-Fast chargers – capable of speeds up to 350kW- at their Rialto, CA facility in collaboration with Electrify America. This milestone advances 4 Gen Logistics’ commitment to a 100% zero-emission fleet by 2025, making it the only company in North America to be 100% zero emission operating more than 75 zero-emission trucks (ZEVs), ten years ahead of California’s Air Resources Board (CARB) directive that requires all drayage trucks in the state be zero-emission by 2035.

The new chargers will support 4 Gen’s rapidly expanding fleet, which currently includes 79 ZEVs consisting of advanced Class 8 Volvo VNR and Kenworth T680E BEVs, as well as Nikola hydrogen fuel cell trucks. The charging infrastructure is part of a broader initiative to reduce tailpipe emissions in the Southern California region, particularly around the critical Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles; Phase One includes 44 chargers across Rialto and the Port of Long Beach.

“We are committed to leading the charge with the most sustainable drayage fleet in the industry,” said David Duncan, CEO of 4 Gen Logistics. “With our partners, we are setting the standard for the industry and demonstrating that zero-emission freight operations are not just a goal but a reality today. We thank Electrify America for their partnership, MSRC, CARB, and the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles for providing the necessary grant awards to make us one of the first purchasers and industry leaders of ZEV operations.”

With Hyper-Fast charging speeds, this strategic move not only supports 4 Gen’s mission but also enhances their operational efficiency, allowing their ZEV fleet to conduct multiple shifts daily between the Inland Empire and the Ports Complex, all while ensuring rapid charging turnaround thanks to the state-of-the-art infrastructure provided by Electrify America. The first phase of the project is funded in part through Electrify America’s $25 million “Green City” investment, which focused on Medium and Heavy Duty electrification projects in Long Beach and the Wilmington neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The 14 new Hyper-Fast chargers and Phase Two plan for additional chargers at the Rialto site are a significant step forward in 4 Gen’s journey to meet and exceed environmental standards, positioning the company as a frontrunner in the transition to zero-emission logistics.
